The baculovirus expression system is particularly well-suited for producing virus-like particles and proteins requiring authentic mammalian-like processing.
Sf9 cells are ideal for general protein expression and baculovirus production, offering robust growth and good protein yields. High Five cells (derived from Trichoplusia ni) are preferred for secretory proteins and typically produce higher yields of secreted proteins. Our team can recommend the optimal cell line based on your specific protein type and application requirements.
We offer multiple affinity tags including His-tag (6xHis) for metal affinity chromatography, GST-tag for glutathione affinity purification, and MBP-tag for improved solubility and purification. Tags can be placed at N-terminus, C-terminus, or both depending on your protein requirements. Cleavable linkers with proteases like TEV or thrombin are available for tag removal after purification.
