Advantages of Synthetic Biology-Driven cis-Muconic Acid Production

Muconic acid is a promising C6 platform chemical with excellent UV absorption properties at 260nm, which can be used as a raw material for the production of resins, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. The production of cis-muconic acid is mainly based on aromatic compounds of petroleum origin. However, petroleum is a non-renewable resource, and its use has a high environmental impact and harsh synthesis conditions. Therefore, synthetic biology-driven production of cis-muconic acid, which constructs a cell factory for cis-muconic acid production, is in line with environmentally friendly principles and has a promising development.

What We Provide

We are able to help our customers improve the productivity of cis-muconic acid by using synthetic biology methods, metabolic engineering, and protein engineering to genetically modify the cis-muconic acid heterologous pathway through synthetic promoters, and rational design of enzyme molecules and backbone proteins.

  • We can modify and optimize strains for the production of 3-deoxymanganic acid using rational design principles and genome replication engineering.
  • We can use genome replication engineering to bring cells into a state of high mutation rate by introducing a series of genetically modified DNA polymerase correction elements into the microorganism. We provide high throughput screening of engineered bacteria by measuring UV absorbance values.
  • We offer two types of fermentation options for the production of cis-muconic acid by microbial fermentation. These two fermentation methods are shaking flask fermentation and fermentor make-up fermentation.
