Strain Engineering for Lipoprotein

Online Inquiry

CD Biosynsis is dedicated to the study of lipoprotein biosynthesis pathways and helps customers achieve lipoprotein synthesis and assembly through synthetic biology techniques.

Advantages of Synthetic Biology-Driven Lipoprotein Production

Lipoproteins are composed of lipids and proteins and act as endogenous carriers to undertake the transport of cholesterol and cholesteryl esters in the plasma. Lipoproteins can be classified into celiac particles, very low-density lipoproteins, low-density lipoproteins, and high-density lipoproteins according to size, density, and settling speed. Currently, synthetic lipoproteins have demonstrated great utilization in both drug transport and diagnostic tools due to their excellent biological characteristics. The use of synthetic biology techniques combined with chemical methods to synthesize lipoproteins not only protects the protein activity during lipid modification but also allows the lipoprotein products to maintain high biological activity.

How We Can Help

Synthesis of Lipid-Modified Peptide

We offer biochemical method-driven lipoprotein synthesis services. We use gene expression to obtain the parent protein and later use chemical methods to modify it with lipids. We are able to synthesize lipopeptides with different lipid modifications and bind the lipopeptides to bacterially expressed proteins to obtain high yields of lipoproteins.

Preparation of Lipid Nanodiscs

Lipid nanodiscs are disk-shaped nanoparticles with a bilayer phospholipid membrane structure, which have promising applications in the field of drug delivery. We are able to provide design and preparation services for lipid nanodiscs according to customer needs.

Development of Multifunctional Nanoparticles

Lipoprotein is a natural nanoparticle. We are able to modify lipoproteins through a variety of strategies to obtain multifunctional nanoparticles. The lipoprotein modification services we offer are listed below.

  • Covalent modifications. We are able to affix therapeutic or visualization agents to the apolipoprotein surface or phospholipid headgroup.
  • Surface Loading. We are able to load drugs on the surface of lipid nanoparticles to help our customers build nano-drug carriers. The Nano drug delivery systems we have successfully constructed are as follows.
Curcumin-Lipoprotein Nanodelivery System Rapamycin-Lipoprotein Nanodelivery System

Applications of Lipoprotein

CD Biosynsis can develop tailored tools and customized approaches to harness the power of synthetic biology to drive lipoprotein production and meet the needs of customers in a variety of industries.

  • As a nanomedicine carrier.
  • As a chemotherapy drug.
  • As an antiviral agent.
  • As an antibacterial agent.
  • As a visualization agent.
