STARD13 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: STARD13

Official Full Name: StAR related lipid transfer domain containing 13provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene encodes a protein which contains an N-terminal sterile alpha motif (SAM) for protein-protein interactions, followed by an ATP/GTP-binding motif, a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) domain, and a C-terminal STAR-related lipid transfer (START) domain. It may be involved in regulation of cytoskeletal reorganization, cell proliferation, and cell motility, and acts as a tumor suppressor in hepatoma cells. The gene is located in a region of chromosome 13 that is associated with loss of heterozygosity in hepatocellular carcinomas. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Background

STARD13 Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent a powerful tool for investigating the biological role of the STARD13 gene, which is implicated in a variety of cellular processes, including lipid metabolism, signaling pathways, and oncogenesis. These knockout cell lines are generated using advanced CRISPR-Cas9 technology, allowing for precise and efficient disruption of the STARD13 gene, leading to loss-of-function phenotypes that can be characterized in vitro.

The key function of the STARD13 Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which STARD13 influences cellular behavior. By studying these cell lines, researchers can assess the effects of STARD13 deficiency on cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis, thus providing insights into its role in diseases such as cancer and metabolic disorders. These models also facilitate the identification of potential therapeutic targets and the exploration of STARD13 as a biomarker.

In terms of scientific importance, STARD13 Gene Knockout Cell Lines have significant applications in both basic research and therapeutic development. They are invaluable for studying the gene's interactions within diverse signaling networks and for evaluating the effects of potential drugs that target these pathways. The ability to manipulate the expression of STARD13 provides researchers with a robust platform for testing hypotheses regarding gene function and its implications in human health and disease.

One of the unique selling points of our STARD13 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is their comprehensive validation for effectiveness and specificity. Unlike alternative models, which may exhibit variable expression patterns or functional redundancy, our knockout lines are rigorously characterized to ensure they provide reliable and reproducible results. This leads to enhanced confidence in data generated from experiments.

For researchers and clinicians seeking to deepen their understanding of STARD13 and its impact on health, these cell lines represent a valuable resource. They offer a streamlined approach for dissecting complex biological questions while providing a reliable basis for translational research efforts.

Our company prides itself on its cutting-edge technology and commitment to the scientific community, offering high-quality biological products that empower research and innovation.
