NUP188 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: NUP188

Official Full Name: nucleoporin 188provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is found on the nuclear envelope and forms a gateway that regulates the flow of proteins and RNAs between the cytoplasm and nucleoplasm. The NPC is comprised of approximately 30 distinct proteins collectively known as nucleoporins. Nucleoporins are pore-complex-specific glycoproteins which often have cytoplasmically oriented O-linked N-acetylglucosamine residues and numerous repeats of the pentapeptide sequence XFXFG. However, the nucleoporin protein encoded by this gene does not contain the typical FG repeat sequences found in most vertebrate nucleoporins. This nucleoporin is thought to form part of the scaffold for the central channel of the nuclear pore. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]

Background

NUP188 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically engineered cellular models specifically designed to investigate the functional role of the NUP188 gene in various biological processes. By employing advanced CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology, these cell lines have been created to functionally eliminate the NUP188 gene, allowing researchers to observe the resultant phenotypic changes and cellular behaviors.

The primary function of these knockout cell lines is to facilitate the study of nuclear pore complex dynamics and mRNA transport, as the NUP188 protein is known to be integral to maintaining the structural integrity of these complexes. When the NUP188 gene is disrupted, alterations in cellular transport mechanisms can be studied, offering insights into critical pathways involved in gene expression regulation and intracellular communication.

In scientific research and clinical settings, NUP188 Gene Knockout Cell Lines serve as a valuable tool for elucidating the gene's role in disease pathology, particularly in cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. The ability to model conditions that lead to dysregulation of cellular transport mechanisms can provide crucial data for developing novel therapeutic strategies or identifying potential drug targets.

What sets NUP188 Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from alternative products is not only the precision of the gene knockout, but also their adaptability across various cellular contexts, including human cell lines and model organisms. This versatility allows for broad applicability in both fundamental research and translational studies.

For researchers and clinicians, the availability of these specialized cell lines represents a significant advancement in the toolkit for studying gene function and developing therapies. The explicit genetic modifications enable more accurate modeling of biological phenomena, leading to more robust data and, ultimately, better-informed decisions in experimental design and clinical applications.

With a commitment to innovation and excellence in biological product development, our company leverages cutting-edge technologies to offer NUP188 Gene Knockout Cell Lines that meet the highest standards of scientific rigor and reliability, ensuring they are an invaluable addition to research laboratories and clinical environments alike.
