Gene: KLHL24
Official Full Name: kelch like family member 24provided by HGNC
Gene Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a ubiquitin ligase substrate receptor and is regulated by autoubiquitination. Variations in the translation initiation codon of this gene have been found, which result in an N-terminally truncated but more stable protein due to loss of the autoubiquitination function. The more stable mutant protein causes an increased ubiquitin and degradation of keratin 14, which leads to skin fragility and the potentially life-threatening disease epidermolysis bullosa. The encoded protein is also involved in the regulation of kainate receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]

KLHL24 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically modified cell lines in which the KLHL24 gene has been inactivated through techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9 or homologous recombination. These cell models provide a crucial tool for investigating the biological roles of KLHL24, a gene implicated in various cellular processes including protein degradation pathways and cellular stress responses. By utilizing these knockout cell lines, researchers can dissect the functional contributions of KLHL24 to cellular homeostasis and its potential involvement in disease mechanisms.
The key function of KLHL24 is its role as a substrate receptor in the Cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, participating in the ubiquitination of target proteins for proteasomal degradation. This mechanism is vital for maintaining cellular protein levels and modulation of stress signaling pathways. The use of KLHL24 knockout cell lines allows for the study of how the loss of this gene affects protein turnover and cellular response to stress, making it an invaluable resource for researchers exploring pathways related to cancer, neurodegeneration, and metabolic disorders.
In research and clinical applications, these knockout lines enable high-throughput screening and targeted drug discovery efforts. The specificity of KLHL24 knockout allows for a fine-tuned examination of cellular signaling processes, providing insights that can lead to innovative therapeutic strategies. Compared to traditional knockout methods, our KLHL24 gene knockout cell lines offer enhanced reliability and efficiency, ensuring reproducibility in experimental results.
Furthermore, our product is designed with user-friendliness in mind, allowing researchers to easily implement these cell lines in different laboratory settings. The value of KLHL24 Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to advance our understanding of complex biological interactions, making them indispensable for scientists focused on the mechanisms of health and disease.
