Gene: MAGED1
Official Full Name: MAGE family member D1provided by HGNC
Gene Summary: This gene is a member of the melanoma antigen gene (MAGE) family. Most of the genes of this family encode tumor specific antigens that are not expressed in normal adult tissues except testis. Although the protein encoded by this gene shares strong homology with members of the MAGE family, it is expressed in almost all normal adult tissues. This gene has been demonstrated to be involved in the p75 neurotrophin receptor mediated programmed cell death pathway. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

MAGED1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically modified cell lines designed to specifically deactivate the MAGED1 gene, a member of the MAGED (Melanoma Antigen Gene D) family implicated in various biological processes, including cellular proliferation and apoptosis. This innovative approach utilizes CRISPR-Cas9 technology for precise gene editing, enabling researchers to study the functional consequences of gene deletion in a controlled environment.
The primary function of MAGED1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to elucidate the role of the MAGED1 gene within various cellular pathways, particularly those related to tumorigenesis. By examining the phenotypic changes following gene knockout, scientists can gain insights into how MAGED1 influences cellular behavior, response to stimuli, and interactions within signaling networks. This makes the cell lines invaluable tools for studying cancer biology, neurobiology, and immunology, facilitating groundbreaking research into potential therapeutic targets.
In research and clinical settings, MAGED1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines play a pivotal role in advancing personalized medicine. They offer a unique platform for drug screening and development, allowing researchers to assess the efficacy and safety of novel therapeutic agents in a genetically relevant context. Furthermore, the ability to deliver reproducible and consistent results enhances the reliability of experimental data, thereby bolstering their importance in preclinical investigations.
Compared to alternative gene knockout models, such as those generated through traditional methods like homologous recombination, MAGED1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines provide a faster, more efficient, and cost-effective solution for gene editing with minimal off-target effects. This precision allows researchers to achieve high levels of specificity and accuracy in their investigations.
For researchers, clinicians, and institutions invested in the field of molecular biology, the MAGED1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines present an unparalleled opportunity to enhance their understanding of gene function, leading to potential breakthroughs in therapeutic strategies. By leveraging our expertise and commitment to quality in biological product development, our company continues to provide innovative tools that empower the scientific community to uncover new frontiers in health and disease research.
