Gene: C4BPA
Official Full Name: complement component 4 binding protein alphaprovided by HGNC
Gene Summary: This gene encodes a member of a superfamily of proteins composed predominantly of tandemly arrayed short consensus repeats of approximately 60 amino acids. Along with a single, unique beta-chain, seven identical alpha-chains encoded by this gene assemble into the predominant isoform of C4b-binding protein, a multimeric protein that controls activation of the complement cascade through the classical pathway. The genes encoding both alpha and beta chains are located adjacent to each other on human chromosome 1 in the regulator of complement activation gene cluster. Two pseudogenes of this gene are also found in the cluster. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

C4BPA Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically engineered cellular models designed to facilitate the study of the C4BPA gene, which is implicated in various biological processes, including immune response and inflammation modulation. Using precise CRISPR/Cas9 technology, these cell lines exhibit a complete knockout of the C4BPA gene, enabling researchers to investigate the functional consequences of gene loss in controlled laboratory settings.
The primary function of C4BPA Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to provide insights into the role of the C4BPA protein, typically involved in the regulation of complement activity in the immune system. This gene knockout allows for a deeper understanding of how variations or deficiencies in C4BPA can affect immune responses, susceptibility to diseases, and the overall inflammatory processes. Researchers can utilize these cell lines in various assays to explore gene function, protein interactions, and potential therapeutic targets for autoimmune diseases.
In clinical and research settings, C4BPA Gene Knockout Cell Lines are invaluable tools for elucidating mechanisms of diseases that involve immune dysregulation. They provide a platform for drug development and testing, particularly for therapies aimed at modulating immune responses or inflammatory pathways. Additionally, the cell lines can serve as a basis for studying the effects of environmental stresses or pathogen exposure on immune function.
What sets C4BPA Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from other genetic models is their high specificity and reliability, achieved through robust genetic engineering techniques. These cell lines maintain genetic stability and exhibit reproducible results, making them a trusted choice for researchers who require accuracy in gene function studies.
The value offered by C4BPA Gene Knockout Cell Lines extends beyond mere utility; they can significantly accelerate research timelines by providing definitive outcomes and straightforward interpretations of gene functionality. For scientists aiming to enhance their understanding of immune mechanisms or develop targeted therapies, these knockout lines are indispensable.
