C3 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: C3

Official Full Name: complement component 3provided by MGI

Gene Summary: This gene encodes complement protein C3 which plays a central role in the classical, alternative and lectin activation pathways of the complement system. The encoded preproprotein undergoes a multi-step processing to generate various functional peptides. Mice deficient in the encoded protein fail to clear bacteria from the blood stream upon infection, display diminished airway hyperresponsiveness and lung eosinophilia upon allergen-induced pulmonary allergy, and develop severe lung injury after deposition of IgG immune complexes. Deficiency of the homolog of the encoded protein in humans was found to be associated with increased susceptibility to infections, age-related macular degeneration, and atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome. Background

C3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specially engineered cell lines developed to enable researchers to investigate the expression and functionality of the C3 gene, a critical component in the complement system, which plays a pivotal role in the immune response and inflammation. These knockout models have been meticulously crafted using advanced CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technologies, allowing for precise and efficient disruption of the C3 gene, leading to a deeper understanding of its biological functions and associated pathways.

The primary function of C3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is to facilitate studies on the downstream effects of C3 deficiency, including its impact on alternative complement pathways and immune cell signaling. By providing a system where the C3 gene is completely silenced, researchers can assess the resulting phenotypic changes and explore novel therapeutic targets for diseases where complement activation is a contributing factor, such as autoimmune disorders and chronic inflammatory diseases.

The scientific importance of these cell lines cannot be overstated; they serve as invaluable tools for both basic and applied research. In clinical settings, they hold promise for advancing our understanding of complement-mediated pathology and for the development of new therapeutic agents aimed at modulating immune responses. Moreover, these knockout models can significantly enhance drug discovery processes by enabling high-throughput screening of potential compounds that target complement-related pathways.

What sets C3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from alternative products is their unparalleled specificity and the rigor of validation they undergo. Established by a team of skilled molecular biologists, these cell lines are accompanied by comprehensive documentation on gene disruption efficiency and stable phenotype expression, ensuring researchers achieve reliable and reproducible results. Additionally, their usability across various platforms, including high-throughput screening and functional assays, extends their reach and applicability within the research community.

For researchers and clinicians seeking to navigate the complexities of the immune system and target complement-related diseases, C3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent a critical resource that enhances understanding and accelerates innovation. Our company is dedicated to providing high-quality biological tools, backed by a robust scientific foundation and a commitment to advancing research in immunology and related fields.
