LCP1 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: LCP1

Official Full Name: lymphocyte cytosolic protein 1provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: Plastins are a family of actin-binding proteins that are conserved throughout eukaryote evolution and expressed in most tissues of higher eukaryotes. In humans, two ubiquitous plastin isoforms (L and T) have been identified. Plastin 1 (otherwise known as Fimbrin) is a third distinct plastin isoform which is specifically expressed at high levels in the small intestine. The L isoform is expressed only in hemopoietic cell lineages, while the T isoform has been found in all other normal cells of solid tissues that have replicative potential (fibroblasts, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, melanocytes, etc.). However, L-plastin has been found in many types of malignant human cells of non-hemopoietic origin suggesting that its expression is induced accompanying tumorigenesis in solid tissues. Background

LCP1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically modified cell lines specifically designed to lack the expression of the LCP1 gene, which is instrumental in the cellular mechanisms of cytoskeletal dynamics and cell migration. These engineered cell lines serve as vital tools for researchers aiming to investigate the role of LCP1 in various biological processes and diseases, including cancer metastasis and autoimmune disorders. The knockout of the LCP1 gene allows for the dissection of its functions by comparing the cellular behavior of knockout lines to wild-type counterparts, providing clear insights into the gene's role in fundamental cellular processes.

The mechanisms through which the LCP1 gene affects cellular activity involve its interaction with actin filaments and intracellular signaling pathways, thereby influencing cell shape, motility, and proliferation. By utilizing LCP1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines, scientists can explore alterations in cell morphology, migration patterns, and responses to extracellular stimuli. This is particularly significant in studies of cancer biology, where understanding the regulation of cell movement and invasion is critical for therapeutic development.

From a scientific perspective, these knockout models hold immense value in elucidating the pathological mechanisms associated with LCP1 dysregulation. In clinical research, they can facilitate the identification of potential therapeutic targets and biomarkers for diseases linked to aberrant cell migration.

What sets LCP1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from alternatives is their precise genetic modification which minimizes off-target effects, ensuring high fidelity in experimental outcomes. Moreover, these cell lines come with comprehensive characterizations and validation, making them ideal for both basic and translational research.

For researchers and clinicians seeking robust and versatile models for studying cellular behavior and disease mechanisms, LCP1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent an indispensable resource.
