CHST8 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: CHST8

Official Full Name: carbohydrate sulfotransferase 8provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the sulfotransferase 2 family. It is predominantly expressed in the pituitary gland, and is localized to the golgi membrane. This protein catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of non-reducing N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residues in both N-glycans and O-glycans. It is responsible for sulfation of GalNAc on luteinizing hormone (LH), which is required for production of the sex hormones. Mice lacking this enzyme, exhibit increased levels of circulating LH, and precocious sexual maturation of both male and female mice. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Background

CHST8 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically modified cell lines specifically designed to facilitate the study of the CHST8 gene's role in various biological processes and diseases. This product utilizes advanced CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing technology to create precise deletions of the CHST8 gene, resulting in knockout cell lines that enable researchers to investigate the functional consequences of CHST8 loss. The knockout mechanism involves directed breaks at specific sites in the CHST8 locus, followed by cellular repair processes that lead to gene inactivation, effectively rendering the gene non-functional.

These cell lines serve a critical role in research related to polysaccharide biosynthesis and the regulation of cellular interactions, which are pivotal in developmental biology and various pathologies, including cancer and cardiovascular diseases. By studying CHST8 knockout models, scientists can delineate the gene's involvement in glycosaminoglycan sulfation processes and better understand its implications in disease mechanisms. This knowledge can ultimately contribute to the development of targeted therapies and informed clinical practices.

Compared to traditional methods of gene knockout, our CHST8 Gene Knockout Cell Lines offer enhanced specificity, reproducibility, and ease of use, saving researchers both time and resources. The availability of these lines allows for high-throughput screening and detailed functional assays, positioning them as an invaluable resource in both academic and pharmaceutical research environments.

Researchers and clinicians will find value in our product as it provides new avenues for exploring gene function and the possibility of discovering novel therapeutic targets. The expertise of our company in gene editing and cell line development ensures that CHST8 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are of the highest quality, backed by rigorous validation and characterization.
