Gene: ASPSCR1
Official Full Name: ASPSCR1 tether for SLC2A4, UBX domain containingprovided by HGNC
Gene Summary: The protein encoded by this gene contains a UBX domain and interacts with glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4). This protein is a tether, which sequesters the GLUT4 in intracellular vesicles in muscle and fat cells in the absence of insulin, and redistributes the GLUT4 to the plasma membrane within minutes of insulin stimulation. Translocation t(X;17)(p11;q25) of this gene with transcription factor TFE3 gene results in a ASPSCR1-TFE3 fusion protein in alveolar soft part sarcoma and in renal cell carcinomas. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

ASPSCR1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specialized cell lines in which the ASPSCR1 gene has been selectively disrupted, allowing researchers to study the gene's function and its implications in various biological processes. This targeted gene knockout serves as an invaluable tool for examining the role of ASPSCR1 in cellular mechanisms including apoptosis, cell signaling, and development, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of its biological significance in health and disease.
The ASPSCR1 gene knockout involves precise genome editing techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9 to ensure that the gene is rendered non-functional. This mechanism provides a robust platform for defining the impact of ASPSCR1 on cellular pathways. By utilizing these knockout cell lines, researchers can investigate how the absence of ASPSCR1 influences cellular behavior, gene expression, and the overall phenotype of the cells, thereby unveiling potential therapeutic targets.
Scientifically, ASPSCR1 has been implicated in various diseases, including certain tumors and metabolic disorders, making the knockout cell lines critical for translational research. They enable scientists to explore the gene’s role in disease pathology and facilitate the development of new treatment strategies.
What sets ASPSCR1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from conventional cell lines is the specificity and effectiveness of gene deletion, allowing for more precise experimentation. Moreover, these cell lines can be utilized in high-throughput screening for drug discovery, offering researchers the advantage of identifying compounds that may specifically target the pathways influenced by ASPSCR1.
For researchers and clinicians, the ASPSCR1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines present a unique opportunity to advance knowledge in gene function, therapeutic development, and provide insights that are critical to understanding disease mechanisms. With our company’s extensive expertise in genetic engineering and cell line development, we assure the integrity and reliability of these cell lines, positioning them as a vital resource in your research endeavors.
