ARHGDIB Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: ARHGDIB

Official Full Name: Rho GDP dissociation inhibitor betaprovided by HGNC

Gene Summary: Members of the Rho (or ARH) protein family (see MIM 165390) and other Ras-related small GTP-binding proteins (see MIM 179520) are involved in diverse cellular events, including cell signaling, proliferation, cytoskeletal organization, and secretion. The GTP-binding proteins are active only in the GTP-bound state. At least 3 classes of proteins tightly regulate cycling between the GTP-bound and GDP-bound states: GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs), guanine nucleotide-releasing factors (GRFs), and GDP-dissociation inhibitors (GDIs). The GDIs, including ARHGDIB, decrease the rate of GDP dissociation from Ras-like GTPases (summary by Scherle et al., 1993 [PubMed 8356058]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2010]

Background

ARHGDIB Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specially engineered cellular models designed to facilitate the study of the ARHGDIB gene, which encodes the Rho GDP dissociation inhibitor beta protein. This vital component regulates the Rho GTPase family, influencing critical cellular processes such as cytoskeletal dynamics, cell migration, and cell division. By knocking out the ARHGDIB gene, researchers can investigate the specific roles this gene plays in various physiological and pathological contexts, thus providing insights into signal transduction pathways that affect both normal and cancerous cell behavior.

The key mechanism of action for ARHGDIB Gene Knockout Cell Lines is the selective disruption of the ARHGDIB gene, allowing for the examination of Rho GTPase activities without the inhibitory effects conferred by the encoded protein. This leads to altered gene expression patterns and cellular phenotypes that can be measured through various assays, such as proliferation, invasion, and migration studies. Importantly, these knockout models are indispensable for investigating the gene’s contribution to diseases, including cancer metastasis and neurological disorders, where Rho GTPases play crucial roles.

The scientific importance of ARHGDIB Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to serve as a platform for drug discovery, basic research, and translational studies. They offer researchers an efficient means to understand the functional implications of ARHGDIB loss-of-function, which can contribute to the development of targeted therapies.

Compared to alternative models, such as wild-type or overexpressing cell lines, ARHGDIB Gene Knockout Cell Lines provide a clearer picture of the gene's pathway roles by eliminating potential compensatory mechanisms that can skew results. Moreover, their robust genetic validation and reproducibility ensure that findings are reliable.

For researchers and clinicians, these cell lines are invaluable tools that enhance the understanding of disease mechanisms at a molecular level, facilitating more impactful and targeted therapeutic strategies. Our company prides itself on providing high-quality biological tools, ensuring that our ARHGDIB Gene Knockout Cell Lines are rigorously validated and produced in compliance with the highest scientific standards, empowering your research endeavors.
