ADA Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: ADA

Official Full Name: adenosine deaminaseprovided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of adenosine to inosine in the purine catabolic pathway. Various mutations have been described for this gene and have been linked to human diseases related to impaired immune function such as severe combined immunodeficiency disease (SCID) which is the result of a deficiency in the ADA enzyme. In ADA-deficient individuals there is a marked depletion of T, B, and NK lymphocytes, and consequently, a lack of both humoral and cellular immunity. Conversely, elevated levels of this enzyme are associated with congenital hemolytic anemia. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2019]

Background

ADA Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specialized cellular models developed to study the Adenosine Deaminase (ADA) gene, which plays a pivotal role in purine metabolism and immune system regulation. These knockout cell lines have been genetically engineered to lack the ADA gene, allowing researchers to investigate the direct effects of ADA deficiency on cellular processes and disease mechanisms.

The key function of ADA is to catalyze the deamination of adenosine to inosine, thus modulating adenosine levels within tissues. In the absence of ADA, adenosine accumulates, leading to various cellular responses, such as altered proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. By utilizing ADA Gene Knockout Cell Lines, scientists can dissect the molecular pathways influenced by elevated adenosine levels, providing invaluable insights into metabolic disorders, immunological dysfunctions, and potential therapeutic targets for conditions such as Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) and certain leukemias.

The scientific importance of these cell lines extends to both basic research and clinical applications, serving as critical tools for drug discovery and the development of gene therapies. Their use is particularly salient in the study of immune responses and the identification of novel therapeutics capable of modulating adenosine signaling pathways.

Unlike other cell lines, we offer exceptionally curated ADA Gene Knockout Cell Lines that ensure high consistency and reproducibility in experiments. These unique lines are validated to eliminate any residual ADA function, providing researchers with reliability that is often lacking in conventional models.

For researchers and clinicians, these cell lines offer profound utility, allowing for more precise experiments that can lead to innovative treatments and deeper understanding of complex biological systems. Our commitment to quality and sustainability in developing these specialized cell lines underscores our expertise in the field of genetic engineering and cellular biology. We provide extensive technical support and guidance, ensuring that our customers efficiently leverage these groundbreaking tools in their research initiatives.
