TANGO2 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: TANGO2

Official Full Name: transport and golgi organization 2 homologprovided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene belongs to the transport and Golgi organization family, whose members are predicted to play roles in secretory protein loading in the endoplasmic reticulum. Depletion of this gene in Drosophila S2 cells causes fusion of the Golgi with the ER. In mouse tissue culture cells, this protein co-localizes with a mitochondrially targeted mCherry protein and displays very low levels of co-localization with Golgi and peroxisomes. Allelic variants of this gene are associated with rhabdomyolysis, metabolic crises with encephalopathy, and cardiac arrhythmia. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]

Background

TANGO2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specialized cellular models engineered to functionally study the TANGO2 gene, which is implicated in various cellular processes, including protein transport and secretion. These knockout cell lines provide researchers with a powerful tool to investigate the biological roles of TANGO2 in both normal and pathological states. By selectively disrupting the TANGO2 gene, scientists can elucidate the gene's impact on cellular functions such as endoplasmic reticulum stress responses, metabolic pathways, and intercellular signaling.

The key mechanism by which these knockout cell lines operate involves the use of CRISPR-Cas9 technology, which enables precise editing of the genome leading to the complete ablation of TANGO2 expression. This targeted approach allows for a clearer analysis of the resulting phenotypes, offering insights into cellular dynamics, gene interactions, and implications for disease mechanisms. The TANGO2 gene has been linked to various clinical conditions, making these cell lines valuable for investigating potential therapeutic interventions and biomarker identification.

In the realm of scientific research, TANGO2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines stand out due to their specific applicability in studying genetic disorders, drug responses, and metabolic dysregulation. Unlike traditional methods, our knockout lines provide a higher level of precision and reproducibility, ensuring that researchers can derive valid conclusions and develop reliable experimental protocols. Additionally, they allow for the exploration of TANGO2's role across different cell types and species, broadening the scope of their applications.

For researchers and clinicians alike, the ability to manipulate and study the TANGO2 gene provides a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between genetic research and clinical application. The insights gained from this product can pave the way for innovative strategies in gene therapy and personalized medicine.
