Gene: PDLIM2
Official Full Name: PDZ and LIM domain 2provided by HGNC
Gene Summary: This gene encodes a member of the ALP subfamily of PDZ-LIM domain proteins. The encoded protein suppresses anchorage-dependent growth and promotes cell migration and adhesion through interactions with the actin cytoskeleton via the PDZ domain. The encoded protein is also a putative tumor suppressor protein, and decreased expression of this gene is associated with several malignancies including breast cancer and adult T-cell leukemia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

PDLIM2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically engineered cell lines specifically designed to lack expression of the PDLIM2 gene, which encodes a protein implicated in various cellular processes, including signal transduction and cytoskeletal organization. This knockout model provides researchers with invaluable tools to study the gene's role in biological activities, enabling them to investigate the consequences of PDLIM2 deficiency in cellular mechanisms and disease states.
The primary function of these cell lines is to serve as a platform for elucidating the physiological roles of PDLIM2. By using CRISPR-Cas9 technology, precise gene editing ensures complete knockout of the target gene, which allows for direct observation of phenotypic changes. Researchers can assess altered signaling pathways, cellular interactions, or metabolic processes stemming from the absence of PDLIM2, facilitating a deeper understanding of its contributions to conditions like cancer, autoimmune disorders, or other pathophysiological states.
In terms of scientific importance, PDLIM2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines have widespread applications in both fundamental research and clinical settings. They can be utilized in drug discovery, biomarker identification, and the development of targeted therapies, particularly in exploring therapeutic interventions for diseases linked to dysregulated PDLIM2 activity.
Compared to other genetic manipulation tools, our PDLIM2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines offer unparalleled specificity and efficiency, minimizing off-target effects commonly associated with older techniques. Coupled with rigorous validation protocols, these cells grant researchers confidence in their experimental outcomes, significantly enhancing the reproducibility and reliability of scientific findings.
For researchers and clinicians focused on molecular biology, oncology, or translational medicine, the PDLIM2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines present a unique opportunity to drive innovative research and therapeutic strategies. The value of this product lies not just in its immediate applications, but in its potential to catalyze breakthroughs that advance our understanding of cellular dynamics and disease mechanisms.
