NFATC1 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: NFATC1

Official Full Name: nuclear factor of activated T cells 1provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: The product of this gene is a component of the nuclear factor of activated T cells DNA-binding transcription complex. This complex consists of at least two components: a preexisting cytosolic component that translocates to the nucleus upon T cell receptor (TCR) stimulation, and an inducible nuclear component. Proteins belonging to this family of transcription factors play a central role in inducible gene transcription during immune response. The product of this gene is an inducible nuclear component. It functions as a major molecular target for the immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporin A. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. Different isoforms of this protein may regulate inducible expression of different cytokine genes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Background

NFATC1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specifically engineered cellular models where the NFATC1 gene, a crucial transcription factor involved in immune response and cell signaling, has been selectively disrupted. The knockout process allows researchers to investigate the functional contributions of NFATC1 in various biological contexts, including T-cell activation, inflammation, and cellular differentiation, by providing a clear comparison between gene-modified cells and their wild-type counterparts.

These cell lines operate through the complete absence of NFATC1, which plays a pivotal role in regulating gene expression in response to calcium signaling. By removing this gene, researchers can delineate the signaling pathways and downstream effects associated with its absence, gaining insights into how NFATC1-mediated transcription influences immune responses and related diseases, such as autoimmunity or cancer. The NFATC1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines serve as valuable tools for dissecting these complex biological processes at both molecular and cellular levels.

The significance of these cell lines extends into various scientific and clinical endeavors. In research settings, they provide a unique platform for drug discovery and therapeutic intervention studies targeting NFATC1-related pathways. Clinically, they hold promise for understanding disease mechanisms that involve perturbations in NFAT signaling, facilitating the development of targeted therapies.

What sets NFATC1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from traditional knockout models is their user-friendly design and robust validation, ensuring reliable data for your experiments. These lines have been meticulously characterized, offering a high degree of reproducibility and a streamlined approach that saves researchers valuable time in their experimental design.

In conclusion, the NFATC1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are an essential resource for researchers and clinicians aiming to unravel the complexities of immune signaling and related disorders.
