ANXA9 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: ANXA9

Official Full Name: annexin A9provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: The annexins are a family of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins. Members of the annexin family contain 4 internal repeat domains, each of which includes a type II calcium-binding site. The calcium-binding sites are required for annexins to aggregate and cooperatively bind anionic phospholipids and extracellular matrix proteins. This gene encodes a divergent member of the annexin protein family in which all four homologous type II calcium-binding sites in the conserved tetrad core contain amino acid substitutions that ablate their function. However, structural analysis suggests that the conserved putative ion channel formed by the tetrad core is intact. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Background

ANXA9 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically engineered cell models that have undergone targeted gene disruption to inactivate the ANXA9 gene, which encodes for annexin A9, a protein involved in various cellular processes such as membrane trafficking, cell signaling, and inflammation. This innovative product allows researchers to explore the functional role of ANXA9 in various biological contexts by providing a reliable platform to study its absence and the resulting phenotypic changes in cellular behavior.

The primary function of ANXA9 Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to mimic conditions of ANXA9 deficiency, enabling scientists to investigate signaling pathways and cellular mechanisms that depend on this protein. By comparing the knockout cell lines with wild-type counterparts, researchers can elucidate the gene's regulatory network and its impact on processes such as apoptosis, cell proliferation, and immune responses.

Scientifically, these cell lines are crucial for advancing research in multiple areas, including cancer biology, inflammatory diseases, and therapeutic development. For instance, improved understanding of ANXA9's role in oncogenesis can provide insights into potential target pathways for cancer treatment and personalized medicine. The usage of ANXA9 Gene Knockout Cell Lines in high-throughput screening assays can accelerate drug discovery and the development of novel therapeutics.

Compared to alternative models, such as transient knockdown systems or non-specific knockout strategies, the ANXA9 Gene Knockout Cell Lines offer a stable and reproducible tool for investigating long-term effects of the loss of ANXA9 function. This stability means researchers can conduct more rigorous experiments over extended periods, resulting in more reliable data.

For researchers and clinicians, the value of ANXA9 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is evident: they provide a robust experimental platform, enhance understanding of key biological processes, and foster innovation in therapeutic approaches. By incorporating such tools into their research, professionals can contribute to groundbreaking findings that may ultimately lead to improved patient outcomes.

Our company specializes in cutting-edge genetic tools designed to facilitate major breakthroughs in biological research. With a commitment to scientific rigor and innovation, we strive to empower researchers with the highest quality products, including our ANXA9 Gene Knockout Cell Lines.
