Gene: AGL
Official Full Name: amylo-alpha-1,6-glucosidase and 4-alpha-glucanotransferaseprovided by HGNC
Gene Summary: This gene encodes the glycogen debrancher enzyme which is involved in glycogen degradation. This enzyme has two independent catalytic activities which occur at different sites on the protein: a 4-alpha-glucotransferase activity and a amylo-1,6-glucosidase activity. Mutations in this gene are associated with glycogen storage disease although a wide range of enzymatic and clinical variability occurs which may be due to tissue-specific alternative splicing. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

AGL Gene Knockout Cell Lines are advanced biological products specifically engineered to facilitate the study of gene function and regulation by effectively inactivating targeted genes within cellular contexts. These cell lines are generated using precise gene-editing technologies, such as CRISPR/Cas9, ensuring that researchers can dissect complex biological pathways and understand phenotypic outcomes associated with gene disruption more effectively.
The key functionality of AGL Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to provide a controlled environment for examining gene expression and interactions. By knocking out specific genes, these cell lines allow for the study of resultant cellular behaviors, including proliferation, differentiation, and metabolism, thus enabling scientists to elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying various biological phenomena. This effectively positions them as essential tools in both fundamental research and drug discovery contexts.
From a scientific standpoint, AGL Gene Knockout Cell Lines hold significant value in elucidating disease mechanisms, validating drug targets, and screening therapeutic compounds. Their application spans diverse areas, including cancer biology, genetic disorders, and regenerative medicine. Moreover, the specificity and robustness of our knockout models enhance their utility in translational research, bridging the gap between bench and bedside.
Compared to traditional gene silencing methods, such as RNA interference, AGL Gene Knockout Cell Lines provide a more permanent and precise alteration of the genome. This feature allows for comprehensive studies over extended periods without the complications of transient expression, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. Their versatility also allows customization for a wide variety of research applications, giving them a distinct edge in the market.
Researchers and clinicians stand to gain significantly by incorporating AGL Gene Knockout Cell Lines into their experimental frameworks, as these products not only simplify the investigation of gene function but also streamline the drug development process through validated models.
