NRGN Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: NRGN

Official Full Name: neurograninprovided by HGNC

Gene Summary: Neurogranin (NRGN) is the human homolog of the neuron-specific rat RC3/neurogranin gene. This gene encodes a postsynaptic protein kinase substrate that binds calmodulin in the absence of calcium. The NRGN gene contains four exons and three introns. The exons 1 and 2 encode the protein and exons 3 and 4 contain untranslated sequences. It is suggested that the NRGN is a direct target for thyroid hormone in human brain, and that control of expression of this gene could underlay many of the consequences of hypothyroidism on mental states during development as well as in adult subjects. Background

NRGN Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent a cutting-edge tool in the field of genetic research, providing scientists with essential models to study the neurogranin (NRGN) gene's role in synaptic function and neuroplasticity. These meticulously developed cell lines are engineered to lack functional NRGN, enabling researchers to investigate the gene's influence on various cellular processes and neuronal health.

The key functionality of NRGN Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their ability to simulate conditions relevant to neurodegenerative diseases and psychiatric disorders, ultimately facilitating the understanding of disease mechanisms that involve synaptic alterations. By employing CRISPR-Cas9 technology for precise gene editing, these knockout models enable high fidelity in studying the absence of NRGN protein. This targeted approach allows for the dissection of molecular pathways, evaluation of compensatory mechanisms in neuronal circuits, and screening of candidate therapeutic compounds that may restore normal function.

The scientific importance of these cell lines is underscored by their applications in both basic research and clinical settings. They serve as pivotal tools for drug discovery and toxicological assessments, providing insights into synaptic biology that can propel advancements in treatments for conditions like Alzheimer's disease or schizophrenia. Furthermore, they stand as a resource for understanding the nuances of synaptic transmission and cognitive function, highlighting their role in broader neuroscientific inquiries.

What sets NRGN Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from alternative models is their specificity and reproducibility. Many existing cell lines may not adequately mimic the complexities of NRGN's involvement in synaptic dynamics, leading to variable experimental outcomes. Our cell lines are validated for consistent expression profiles and functional assays, ensuring that researchers can confidently interpret their data.

For researchers and clinicians striving to innovate in neurobiology, NRGN Gene Knockout Cell Lines provide unmatched value by enabling targeted studies that could lead to groundbreaking discoveries. Enhanced by a reliable supply chain and support from our experienced scientific team, our commitment to excellence empowers users to advance their research while minimizing experimental variability.
