MLPH Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: MLPH

Official Full Name: melanophilinprovided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene encodes a member of the exophilin subfamily of Rab effector proteins. The protein forms a ternary complex with the small Ras-related GTPase Rab27A in its GTP-bound form and the motor protein myosin Va. A similar protein complex in mouse functions to tether pigment-producing organelles called melanosomes to the actin cytoskeleton in melanocytes, and is required for visible pigmentation in the hair and skin. A mutation in this gene results in Griscelli syndrome type 3, which is characterized by a silver-gray hair color and abnormal pigment distribution in the hair shaft. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Background

MLPH Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically engineered cellular models designed to specifically disrupt the expression of the MLPH gene, which encodes for the Melanophilin protein. This protein plays a crucial role in the transport and localization of melanosomes within melanocytes, influencing pigmentation and cellular responses to environmental signals. By utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 or similar gene-editing technologies, our MLPH knockout cell lines serve as a powerful tool for investigating the biological functions of MLPH, its involvement in melanin production, and its implications in skin disorders.

These cell lines exhibit validated gene disruption, allowing researchers to study the consequences of MLPH deficiency at both cellular and molecular levels. This enables a deeper understanding of pigmentation-related pathways, potentially leading to insights into conditions such as vitiligo, albinism, and melanoma. MLPH gene knockout models are particularly valuable in gene function analysis, drug discovery, and therapeutic development, serving both basic research needs and preclinical studies.

What sets our MLPH Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart is their rigorous validation and optimization for consistent performance in various experimental setups. The ability to create reproducible results enhances the reliability of research findings, ensuring that scientists can effectively explore the mechanistic roles of melanosome regulation and its broader implications in regenerative medicine.

For researchers and clinicians, these cell lines offer a strategic advantage in unraveling the complexities of pigmentary disorders and skin biology. Our commitment to quality assurance, combined with our expertise in genetic engineering, ensures that we provide cutting-edge tools that propel the scientific community forward. By choosing our MLPH Gene Knockout Cell Lines, you are investing in a solution that not only meets but exceeds the demands of contemporary research and clinical applications, backed by our reputation for excellence in biological product development.
