Overview

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is a characteristic component of the cell wall of Gram-negative bacteria. LPS and its lipid A part stimulate cells of the innate immune system through Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), a member of the Toll-like receptor protein family, which can recognize common pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs). The product is extracted from the Escherichia coli O26:B6 serotype with trichloroacetic acid. The source strain is ATCC12795.
