CXCR1 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: CXCR1

Official Full Name: C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 1provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the G-protein-coupled receptor family. This protein is a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8). It binds to IL8 with high affinity, and transduces the signal through a G-protein activated second messenger system. Knockout studies in mice suggested that this protein inhibits embryonic oligodendrocyte precursor migration in developing spinal cord. This gene, IL8RB, a gene encoding another high affinity IL8 receptor, as well as IL8RBP, a pseudogene of IL8RB, form a gene cluster in a region mapped to chromosome 2q33-q36. Background

CXCR1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specially engineered cellular models that have undergone targeted genetic modification to silence the expression of the CXCR1 gene. This gene encodes for a chemokine receptor that plays a crucial role in mediating immune responses and regulating cellular migration, particularly in inflammatory conditions. By generating these knockout cell lines, researchers can explore the functional implications of CXCR1 in various biological contexts, including tumor progression, metastasis, and immune cell trafficking.

The key mechanism by which CXCR1 gene knockout operates is through CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology, which allows for precise alterations in the DNA sequence, effectively disabling the protein’s production. This results in a profound impact on the cellular behavior concerning chemokine signaling pathways, allowing for the study of downstream effects on cellular functions such as migration, proliferation, and response to stimuli.

In terms of scientific importance, CXCR1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines have a diverse range of applications in both research and clinical settings. They serve as essential tools for studying the role of CXCR1 in various pathophysiological processes, thus providing insights that can aid in the development of targeted therapies for diseases characterized by aberrant chemokine signaling, such as cancer, asthma, and autoimmune disorders.

What sets these knockout cell lines apart from alternatives, such as naturally occurring cell lines or those with non-specific gene silencing, is their precision and reliability. These cell lines are designed to offer reproducible results and reduce experimental variability, making them invaluable for both academic and pharmaceutical research. Additionally, the ability to dissect the role of CXCR1 with high specificity enhances data integrity, which is critical for advancing scientific knowledge and therapeutic development.

By choosing our CXCR1 Gene Knockout Cell Lines, researchers and clinicians can leverage a robust platform that facilitates innovative studies, leading to groundbreaking discoveries.
