Gene: CCR7
Official Full Name: C-C motif chemokine receptor 7provided by HGNC
Gene Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. This receptor was identified as a gene induced by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and is thought to be a mediator of EBV effects on B lymphocytes. This receptor is expressed in various lymphoid tissues and activates B and T lymphocytes. It has been shown to control the migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues, as well as stimulate dendritic cell maturation. The chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 19 (CCL19/ECL) has been reported to be a specific ligand of this receptor. Signals mediated by this receptor regulate T cell homeostasis in lymph nodes, and may also function in the activation and polarization of T cells, and in chronic inflammation pathogenesis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]

CCR7 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specifically engineered cell lines in which the C-C chemokine receptor type 7 (CCR7) gene has been inactivated or deleted. CCR7 plays a pivotal role in immune cell migration and function, particularly in the trafficking of lymphocytes and dendritic cells to lymphoid tissues. The knockout of this gene is achieved through CRISPR/Cas9 or similar genome-editing technologies, allowing researchers to study the direct impacts of CCR7 absence on cellular behavior, signaling pathways, and immune responses.
These cell lines serve as vital tools for investigating the mechanistic roles of CCR7 in various biological processes, including lymphocyte homing, immune regulation, and tumor microenvironment interactions. In research settings, scientists utilize these knockout models to elucidate the functions of immune cells in health and disease, enabling the exploration of therapeutic targets for inflammatory conditions, cancer immunotherapy, and autoimmune diseases. The CCR7 knockout cell lines facilitate empirically testing hypotheses related to lymphocyte activation and cytokine production, which are crucial for vaccine development and other immunological interventions.
Compared to traditional cell lines that express CCR7, our knockout cell lines offer significant advantages by enabling clearer insights into the specific functions of CCR7 in a controlled experimental context. Whereas alternatives may mask interactions due to the presence of functional CCR7, our knockout models provide unequivocal results and reliable reproducibility, ensuring high-quality data for researchers.
For researchers, clinicians, and pharmaceutical developers, CCR7 Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent a transformative advancement in the study of immune responses and potential interventions. The ability to manipulate this critical gene allows for probing deeper into disease mechanisms and discovering novel therapeutic strategies.
