Overview

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is located in the outer membrane layer and is exposed on the cell surface of non-encapsulated strains. They contribute to the integrity of the outer membrane and can protect cells from the action of bile salts and lipophilic antibiotics. The product was obtained by phenol extraction, with the extraction strain being ATCC 13027.
