Overview

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is located in the outer layer of the membrane and is exposed on the cell surface of non-encapsulated strains. They help maintain the integrity of the outer membrane and protect cells from the effects of bile salts and lipophilic antibiotics. This product is extracted from Escherichia coli serotype O127:B8 and purified by ion exchange. The source strain is ATCC 12740.
