Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are located on the outer layer of the membrane and are exposed on the cell surface of non-encapsulated strains. They help maintain the integrity of the outer membrane and protect cells from bile salts and lipophilic antibiotics. This product is extracted from Escherichia coli serotype O111:B4 using TCA. This LPS serotype has been used to stimulate B cells and induce NOS in human hepatocytes.
