TULP3 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: TULP3

Official Full Name: TUB like protein 3provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene encodes a member of the tubby gene family of bipartite transcription factors. Members of this family have been identified in plants, vertebrates, and invertebrates, and they share a conserved N-terminal transcription activation region and a conserved C-terminal DNA and phosphatidylinositol-phosphate binding region. The encoded protein binds to phosphoinositides in the plasma membrane via its C-terminal region and probably functions as a membrane-bound transcription regulator that translocates to the nucleus in response to phosphoinositide hydrolysis, for instance, induced by G-protein-coupled-receptor signaling. It plays an important role in neuronal development and function. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2009]

Background

TULP3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specialized cellular models engineered to lack the TULP3 (tubby-like protein 3) gene, providing researchers with a powerful tool to investigate the gene's functional roles in cellular processes and disease mechanisms. This systematic gene knockout allows for the elucidation of TULP3's involvement in critical pathways, especially in neuronal physiology and certain metabolic disorders.

The primary function of TULP3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is to enable the assessment of phenotypic changes resulting from the absence of TULP3. Researchers can study alterations in signaling pathways, gene expression profiles, and cellular behaviors such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. By utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 technology for precise gene editing, these knockout cell lines ensure robust and reproducible models for downstream assays, including drug screening and mechanistic studies.

The scientific importance of TULP3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is underscored by their applications in basic and translational research settings. They provide insights into human diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and neurodegenerative conditions, thereby facilitating the discovery of potential therapeutic targets and strategies. Their utility in evaluating the role of TULP3 in modulating important biological functions reinforces their value in both academic and clinical research environments.

One of the key advantages of our TULP3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is their unparalleled specificity and efficiency compared to traditional knockout methods.
