SEMA7A Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: SEMA7A

Official Full Name: semaphorin 7A (JohnMiltonHagen blood group)provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene encodes a member of the semaphorin family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored membrane glycoprotein. The encoded protein is found on activated lymphocytes and erythrocytes and may be involved in immunomodulatory and neuronal processes. The encoded protein carries the John Milton Hagen (JMH) blood group antigens. Mutations in this gene may be associated with reduced bone mineral density (BMD). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes an isoform that is proteolytically processed. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]

Background

SEMA7A Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specialized cellular models designed to study the functional implications of the SEMA7A gene. SEMA7A (Semaphorin 7A) is a member of the semaphorin family, which plays crucial roles in cell signaling, neuronal development, immune response, and angiogenesis. The knockout cell lines have been genetically engineered to eliminate the expression of the SEMA7A gene, allowing researchers to gain insights into its biological functions and involvement in various physiological and pathological processes.

These cell lines facilitate a range of experiments aimed at understanding SEMA7A's role in cell migration, adhesion, and communication. By observing the behavior of these knockout lines, researchers can investigate how the absence of SEMA7A influences cellular interactions and signaling pathways. The loss of this gene has been implicated in several conditions, including cancer progression and neurodegenerative diseases, making these cell lines invaluable in understanding its molecular mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.

In research and clinical settings, SEMA7A Gene Knockout Cell Lines hold significant scientific importance, serving as powerful tools for drug development, disease modeling, and biomarker identification. The knockout model offers a distinct advantage over traditional methods by providing a clear and unambiguous evaluation of gene function without the confounding effects of residual expression. Compared to similar products, our cell lines feature high specificity and consistency, ensuring reliable results across experiments.

For researchers and clinicians pursuing advancements in molecular biology and therapeutic intervention, the SEMA7A Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent a unique opportunity to delve deeper into vital biological processes affecting human health.
