SEMA3A Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: SEMA3A

Official Full Name: semaphorin 3Aprovided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene is a member of the semaphorin family and encodes a protein with an Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain, a PSI domain and a Sema domain. This secreted protein can function as either a chemorepulsive agent, inhibiting axonal outgrowth, or as a chemoattractive agent, stimulating the growth of apical dendrites. In both cases, the protein is vital for normal neuronal pattern development. Increased expression of this protein is associated with schizophrenia and is seen in a variety of human tumor cell lines. Also, aberrant release of this protein is associated with the progression of Alzheimer's disease. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Background

SEMA3A Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specialized cellular models designed for research into the role of the semaphorin 3A gene (SEMA3A) in various biological processes and disease states. By systematically disrupting the SEMA3A gene, these cell lines allow scientists to explore the gene's function, particularly in neurodevelopment, tumorigenesis, and immune response modulation. The knockout mechanism is typically achieved through advanced gene-editing techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9, ensuring precise and efficient alteration of the genome.

The primary function of SEMA3A involves acting as a repulsive guidance cue in neuronal development, influencing axon guidance and neuronal cell migration. Additionally, this gene has been implicated in the regulation of angiogenesis and the immune response, contributing to its significance in cancer progression and neurodegenerative disorders. By utilizing SEMA3A Gene Knockout Cell Lines, researchers can effectively dissect these pathways, evaluate downstream signaling cascades, and identify potential therapeutic targets relevant in both academic and pharmaceutical research settings.

One of the notable advantages of using SEMA3A Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their capacity to deliver consistent and reproducible results, crucial for the validation of experimental hypotheses. Compared to traditional knockdown approaches, full gene knockout provides a more definitive assessment of gene function, yielding insights that are often obscured by partial inhibition. This feature positions our product as an essential tool in cutting-edge research aimed at uncovering the complexities of gene regulation and its implications in human health.

Furthermore, the accessibility of these cell lines enhances their appeal to both researchers and clinicians, opening avenues for development of targeted treatments within oncology and neurology. With our extensive expertise in developing high-quality biological products, we are committed to supporting the scientific community by providing reliable and innovative solutions that facilitate groundbreaking discoveries and improve patient outcomes.
