S100A3 Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: S100A3

Official Full Name: S100 calcium binding protein A3provided by HGNC

Gene Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein has the highest content of cysteines of all S100 proteins, has a high affinity for Zinc, and is highly expressed in human hair cuticle. The precise function of this protein is unknown. Background

S100A3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are genetically modified cell lines specifically engineered to lack the expression of the S100A3 gene, a member of the S100 protein family known for its role in various cellular functions including cell growth, differentiation, and inflammation. These cell lines serve as innovative tools in research, enabling scientists to dissect the biological pathways influenced by S100A3 and to analyze its implications in various disease states, including cancer and autoimmune disorders.

The primary function of S100A3 is linked to its involvement in calcium signaling and the regulation of intracellular processes. By utilizing knockout cell lines, researchers can examine the cellular behavior in the absence of S100A3, thereby elucidating its contributions to important physiological and pathological mechanisms. Mechanistically, these cell lines facilitate the study of altered signaling pathways, such as the modulation of inflammatory responses or changes in cell cycle regulation, offering insights into the potential therapeutic targets.

In scientific research and clinical applications, S100A3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines hold significant importance. They allow for the exploration of novel biomarker discovery in cancer diagnostics and therapeutic development. Furthermore, they can aid in drug screening processes by providing a more defined cellular model to evaluate the efficacy and safety of new compounds.

What sets S100A3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from alternatives, such as overexpression systems or complete wild-type cell lines, is the precision in which the gene’s function can be analyzed. This specificity can lead to more reliable data regarding the role of S100A3 in various biological contexts. The adaptability of these cell lines to different experimental conditions also enhances their utility across diverse research fields.

Utilizing S100A3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines represents a critical advancement for researchers and clinicians alike, as they enable a detailed understanding of the biological roles of S100A3, ultimately driving forward knowledge and discovery in disease pathology and treatment strategies.
