Gene: MAPKAPK3
Official Full Name: MAPK activated protein kinase 3provided by HGNC
Gene Summary: This gene encodes a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. This kinase functions as a mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAP kinase)- activated protein kinase. MAP kinases are also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals. This kinase was shown to be activated by growth inducers and stress stimulation of cells. In vitro studies demonstrated that ERK, p38 MAP kinase and Jun N-terminal kinase were all able to phosphorylate and activate this kinase, which suggested the role of this kinase as an integrative element of signaling in both mitogen and stress responses. This kinase was reported to interact with, phosphorylate and repress the activity of E47, which is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor known to be involved in the regulation of tissue-specific gene expression and cell differentiation. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

MAPKAPK3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specially engineered cellular models in which the MAPKAPK3 gene has been precisely disrupted or knocked out. This gene encodes a protein involved in pivotal signaling pathways regulating cellular responses to stress, cytokines, and growth factors. By creating these knockout cell lines, researchers can effectively study the functional role of MAPKAPK3 in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammatory responses.
The main function of MAPKAPK3 involves the phosphorylation of downstream substrates, contributing to the regulation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways. This aspect is crucial for understanding how cells adapt to environmental changes and how dysregulation in these pathways can lead to diseases, including cancer and chronic inflammatory conditions. By utilizing these knockout models, researchers can elucidate the specific contributions of MAPKAPK3 in various physiological and pathological contexts.
The scientific importance of MAPKAPK3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines extends to both basic and applied research settings. In areas such as therapeutic drug development, these models provide valuable insights into potential drug targets and mechanisms of action, allowing for a more profound understanding of disease processes. Clinically, knowledge gained from studying these knockout cell lines can inform the design of strategies for intervention in MAPKAPK3-regulated pathways.
One distinct advantage of our MAPKAPK3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is the precision and reproducibility of the knockout method, typically achieved through CRISPR-Cas9 technology. This ensures that researchers can rely on consistent results, mitigating variability often observed with alternative models. Furthermore, compared to traditional pharmacological inhibition methods, these knockout lines provide a clearer, genetic basis for understanding MAPKAPK3 functions without the confounding effects of drug interactions.
For researchers and clinicians, the value of using MAPKAPK3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines lies in their potential to yield new insights into the molecular underpinnings of diseases, paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies. Moreover, our commitment to quality and rigorous validation processes ensures that these cell lines are not only functional but also embody the highest standards of biological research.
