LNPEP Knockout Cell Lines

Gene: LNPEP

Official Full Name: leucyl and cystinyl aminopeptidaseprovided by HGNC

Gene Summary: This gene encodes a zinc-dependent aminopeptidase that cleaves vasopressin, oxytocin, lys-bradykinin, met-enkephalin, dynorphin A and other peptide hormones. The protein can be secreted in maternal serum, reside in intracellular vesicles with the insulin-responsive glucose transporter GLUT4, or form a type II integral membrane glycoprotein. The protein catalyzes the final step in the conversion of angiotensinogen to angiotensin IV (AT4) and is also a receptor for AT4. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Background

LNPEP Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specialized cell lines engineered to specifically disrupt the expression of the LNPEP gene, which encodes for the enzyme aminopeptidase N. These knockout cell lines serve as invaluable tools for researchers and clinicians studying the physiological and pathological roles of aminopeptidase N in various biological processes, including immune response, cancer progression, and metabolic regulation.

The primary function of the LNPEP knockout cell lines is to facilitate the exploration of cellular mechanisms by providing a model to evaluate the consequences of gene loss. By eliminating the function of the LNPEP gene, researchers can observe the resulting downstream effects on peptide metabolism, cellular signaling, and the immune microenvironment. This allows for a deeper understanding of how aminopeptidase N influences cellular behavior and interactions.

Scientifically, these cell lines have significant applications in both fundamental research and clinical settings. They can be utilized in drug discovery, where understanding the role of aminopeptidase N could lead to novel therapeutic targets in cancer treatment or immune modulation. Moreover, the use of these knockout cell lines can advance our knowledge in regenerative medicine and metabolic disorders, providing insights into disease mechanisms and potential intervention strategies.

What sets our LNPEP Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from alternatives is their high specificity and reproducibility. Each cell line is rigorously validated for the absence of LNPEP expression, ensuring reliable results in experimental setups. Additionally, our lines are developed from widely used parent cell lines, facilitating integration into existing research workflows.

For researchers, clinicians, and developers, the LNPEP Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent a crucial resource that can propel forward innovation in understanding disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies. Our commitment to quality and scientific rigor ensures that you are working with products backed by extensive research and development by a team of experts in the field of genetic engineering and cellular biology.
