Gene: HNRNPH3
Official Full Name: heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H3provided by HGNC
Gene Summary: This gene belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). The hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem to shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins have distinct nucleic acid binding properties. The protein encoded by this gene has two repeats of quasi-RRM domains that bind to RNAs. It is localized in nuclear bodies of the nucleus. This protein is involved in the splicing process and it also participates in early heat shock-induced splicing arrest by transiently leaving the hnRNP complexes. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been noted for this gene, however, not all are fully characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

HNRNPH3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specially engineered cellular models designed to provide researchers with the ability to study the functional impacts of the HNRNPH3 gene. By utilizing CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology, these cell lines exhibit a complete knockout of the HNRNPH3 gene, enabling the investigation of its role in various biological processes such as RNA splicing, cell proliferation, and differentiation.
The critical mechanism of these cell lines lies in their intrinsic lack of HNRNPH3 protein, which serves as a multifunctional RNA-binding protein involved in the regulation of gene expression and cellular responses to stress. Researchers can leverage this model to explore alterations in cellular pathways and gene expression profiles that occur in the absence of HNRNPH3, providing valuable insights into its contribution to health and disease.
The scientific importance of HNRNPH3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines is underscored by their utility in both fundamental research and clinical settings. They serve as essential tools in the study of neurodegenerative diseases, cancer biology, and developmental biology, enabling a deeper understanding of how dysregulation of HNRNPH3 may lead to pathological conditions. Furthermore, these cell lines can be effectively used in drug discovery and the evaluation of therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating gene expression.
One of the significant advantages of HNRNPH3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines compared to alternative models is their precision and reliability, resulting from the targeted gene editing technique employed. This specificity minimizes off-target effects and enhances reproducibility across experiments, which are essential features in rigorous scientific research.
For researchers and clinicians seeking to unravel the complexities of gene function and its implications in disease, HNRNPH3 Gene Knockout Cell Lines represent a valuable tool. Their unique capability to mimic the absence of a critical gene provides an opportunity to derive compelling insights into molecular pathways and therapeutic targets.
