Gene: ANXA2
Official Full Name: annexin A2provided by HGNC
Gene Summary: This gene encodes a member of the annexin family. Members of this calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein family play a role in the regulation of cellular growth and in signal transduction pathways. This protein functions as an autocrine factor which heightens osteoclast formation and bone resorption. This gene has three pseudogenes located on chromosomes 4, 9 and 10, respectively. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Annexin A2 expression has been found to correlate with resistance to treatment against various cancer forms. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2019]

ANXA2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines are specifically engineered cell lines in which the ANXA2 gene has been inactivated through targeted gene-editing techniques, such as CRISPR/Cas9. ANXA2, or Annexin A2, is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein implicated in several critical cellular processes, including cell migration, adhesion, and inflammation. The inactivation of this gene allows researchers to explore its function and the biological pathways it influences without the interference of its normal expression levels.
These knockout cell lines serve as powerful tools for elucidating the role of ANXA2 in various physiological and pathological conditions, such as cancer progression and immune response. By studying these truncated models, scientists can better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying diseases, potentially leading to the discovery of innovative therapeutic targets. Furthermore, they can assess the compensatory effects in cellular pathways and the interactions with other signaling molecules in the absence of ANXA2.
What sets the ANXA2 Gene Knockout Cell Lines apart from alternative models is their specificity and reliability. Unlike traditional knockdown approaches, which may yield partial inhibition, these knockout lines provide a complete nullification of gene function, allowing for clearer interpretation of experimental data. Additionally, our cell lines are generated using rigorously validated protocols, ensuring high reproducibility and consistency across experiments.
For researchers and clinicians, these knockout cell lines represent a critical advantage in studying the complexities of gene function and elucidating novel therapeutic strategies. The precision of gene editing combined with the versatility of the resulting cell lines empowers scientific inquiry and accelerates the pace of discovery.
