CD Biosynsis uses revolutionary technologies in synthetic biology to help our customers overcome the challenges of cellulase production to meet the growing demand for cellulases in the food industry, textile industry, and pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. We are committed to developing more cost-effective microbial cellulase production methods to promote the widespread use of cellulases.
Cellulase is a group of enzymes that degrade cellulose to produce glucose, mainly consisting of endoglucanase and exoglucanases including cellobiohydrolases and β-glucosidase. In the natural environment, fungi, bacteria, and actinomycetes are efficient cellulase-producing microorganisms. As one of the most widely used enzymes in industry, the demand for cellulases is currently growing exponentially in the global market. However, there are huge bottlenecks in the industrial application of cellulases, such as high production cost and low catalytic efficiency of cellulases. The rewinding concept of synthetic biology can open new avenues to develop highly active cellulase.
