With the depletion of traditional fossil energy sources and increasing environmental pollution, it is important to develop ways to produce platform chemicals using renewable resources as substrates. C5 platform chemicals can be used as intermediates in the manufacture of a range of chemicals and materials. c5 platform chemicals have a high potential for conversion into industrially important biochemicals.
